In dit boek gaat het over de evolutietheorie versus de scheppingstheorie. Volgens haar aanhangers zou het ontstaan van het leven alleen wetenschappelijk te verklaren zijn door uit te gaan van de evolutietheorie. Het ontstaan van alle leven zou begonnen zijn met een eencellig diertje waaruit alle miljoenen / miljarden verschillende planten en dieren zijn geëvolueerd.

Maar natuurwetenschappelijke bewijzen heeft als kenmerk:
a) de resultaten van een proef moeten waarneembaar zijn
b) de proef moet herhaald kunnen worden.

Dat roept de vragen op:
a) wie / wat heeft het ontstaan van leven op aarde waar genomen?
b) kan dit ontstaan herhaald worden?

Fossielen vormen het enige bewijs dat het leven zich heeft ontwikkeld van simpele- tot complexe levensvormen. De schrijver toont dan ook aan dat de evolutieleer van Darwin aan alle kanten rammelt. Dat wordt met aantoonbare voorbeelden in dit boek aan de kaak gesteld.

Ondanks dat er miljarden fossielen zijn gevonden zijn er nooit overgangsvormen ontdekt zoals Darwin dat wel veronderstelde. Alle feiten zoals we die nu kennen hebben meer kenmerken binnen de scheppingstheorie dan binnen de evolutietheorie, aldus Hobrink. Deze stelling wordt extra ondersteund door de methodiek van ouderdomsbepalingen tegen het licht te houden.

En dan is er ook nog de vraag: Is de aarde en het heelal jong < 10.000 jaar of oud 4,5 miljard jaar?

Tot slot geeft de schrijver, met de Bijbel als achtergrond, het ontstaan van en de gevolgen van de zondvloed weer.
Kortom een klein maar zeer interessant boekje dat je meer inzicht geeft in het evolutionisme versus het creationisme.
