Bart Uytterhaegen zet in dit boek uiteen hoe belangrijk de Ufo-golf waarnemingen in België zijn geweest in het wereldwijde ufo onderzoek. Wat vrijwel niemand weet is dat de Belgische dossiervorming over de Ufo-golf wereldwijd in de top tien staat van de belangrijkste ufo dossiers.

Al in 1515 is de eerste Ufo waarneming in België vastgelegd, later nog een in 1844 en in 1870. Vanaf het midden van vorige eeuw komen Ufo waarnemingen vaker voor in België net als in andere Europese landen, in Rusland en in Amerika. In de jaren 1989-1991 wordt België overspoeld met Ufo waarnemingen. Op één avond in november 1989 worden in Eupen 143 Ufo waarnemingen gemeld door 250 getuigen waaronder 13 rijkswachters. De golf van waarnemingen zet door tot in 1991. Dan wordt er uiteindelijk een onderzoekstraject opgestart in samenwerking met amateur ufologen. Bijzonder is het dan wel dat er vanuit de Belgische overheid géén officieel onderzoek wordt ingesteld. Wel maakt diezelfde overheid aan haar bevolking bekend dat Ufo’s bestaan.

De Britten en de Amerikanen krijgen grote belangstelling de Belgische Ufo-golf. Maar als België een voorstel inbrengt bij het Europese parlement om op Europees niveau onderzoek te gaan doen wordt dit voorstel verworpen. De media ridiculiseert Ufo’s in navolging van sceptici die Ufo waarnemingen ook naar het rijk der fabelen verwijzen.

De Amerikanen hebben, evenals de Russen, op Ufo gebied al langer ervaring en ontvangen van hun overheid ook ruime budgetten om dit fenomeen vast te leggen en verder te onderzoeken. Weliswaar wordt er maar mondjesmaat over gecommuniceerd naar het grote publiek. Maar het is duidelijk dat deze 2 naties veel verder zijn dan menigeen kan vermoeden.

De schrijver stelt: “onduidelijk is nu in hoeverre, onder andere de Amerikanen Ufo technologie hebben nagebouwd en gaat het bij de Ufo waarnemingen om buitenaardse objecten of zijn het Aardse namaak objecten? Over deze laatste mogelijkheid wordt geen informatie vrijgegeven”.

Ook zouden de Amerikanen over anti zwaartekracht technologie kunnen beschikken, hetgeen de overheid ten stelligste ontkend. Maar het zou zeer zeker niet uitgesloten zijn.

Kortom er zijn redenen te over om veel meer internationaal samen te werken, informatie uit te wisselen en budgetten vrij te maken om gedegen onderzoek mogelijk te maken. België en ook Nederland blijven op dit terrein ver achter bij andere landen.
